But it has the very good fortune of being located in an area of true excellence, the slopes which descend, sweetly and gracefully, from the close to 2000 feet above sea level of the town of Castellina to the 650 feet of Castellina Scalo.
The visitor who arrives at the property passes a series of familiar names, those of estates and sites of Lilliano and Capraia which have made the name of Chianti Classico in both national and international markets.
The Soderi family, winegrowers from the early 1900’s and owners of Setriolo since 1989, once sold the grapes to other houses but decided, intelligently, in 2005 to begin fermenting, aging, and bottling them on their own, with results which have been, to say the least, satisfying. As is proper for a small operation of this sort, the line is short but sweet.
