Wines
The 1980’s, accordingly, saw the birth of yet another winemaking operation, once again based on sparkling wine and operating in the same overall area as the first, but this time at Adro, rather than at Erbusco. Here sentiment, and not mere economic calculation, entered into the picture.
The site chosen was a former brick-making facility once operated by the godmother of Moretti’s wife Mariella, a place where she spent much time during the after school hours of her youth.
The new project, intelligently, has always offered a different approach and philosophy to that of Bellavista: here no oak is used for the aging of the wines, and fruit, elegance, and finesse are the key words defining the style that is aimed for. And achieved.
The Chardonnay and the Pinot Nero are the principal grapes in the project and, along with the Brut, have always been the major wines in the Franciacorta line. The house has focused on its Satèn, lower in pressure**, creamier in texture and consistency, and a sheer pleasure to drink.
