Few phenomenon in Italian wine have been so surprising or so unexpected as the triumphant commercial success of Prosecco, an exponential growth which began in the 1990’s and has continued uninterruptedly in the quarter of a century that has followed.
Conegliano-Valddobiadene in the province of Treviso has always been the centre of the quality production of this wine and the important Bellenda wine-producing farm belonging to the Cosmo family has played a fundamental part in its thirty-year period of expansion and success.
The Bellenda winery is situated on the hills of Carpesica, a village in the borough of Vittorio Veneto, where the Cosmo family has lived since the 18th century.

Accommodation – Alice Relais in the vineyards

The old farmhouse conserves all its original characteristics and each of the 10 rooms comes complete with all the necessary amenities: a private bathroom with a jacuzzi or a multifunction shower, telephone, air conditioning with independent room regulation, a kettle in the bedroom with a choice of coffee, herbal teas or tea.

A rich and enjoyable breakfast makes waking in the morning much tastier thanks to the wide selection of sweet and savoury organic products, while people with allergies can ask for a special menu. On prior request, guests can visit the cellars and taste the wines.

Bellenda Wines
The vineyards, replanted in the 1970’s, gave their first bottled wines in 1987, and the leading role of the house in this appellation has never been in doubt since.
Production is quite varied for the zone: in addition to the Colli di Conegliano red wine, a Bordeaux blend of personality, the house is justly proud of its Champagne-method sparkling wines based on the classic grapes of the type Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
But Prosecco is the grand specialité de la maison and, as is customary in the area, is offered in a wide range of styles and sweetness. In this case personified in such excellent offerings as the Brut San Fermo, the Brut Sei Uno and the Extra Dry Miraval.
